Materials: friendships, envelopes sealed and stamped, threads passed down between ages, and secrets shared during a hike in the dunes. Also: archaic forms found in nature and rituals of everyday life. Also places : the Lower East Side where I lived as a teenager and young adult before and after 9/11; a beach village in Noord-Holland where my grandmother spent her childhood and returned to in her later years; and the stretch of Northern California descending from the alpine mountains of Tahoe, though the flatlands, to the dairy farms along the Pacific Ocean in Point Reyes. The what and where of home appears to me in the dreams and psychic space I share with others. I think of work and life as the same fiber.
